Right now we are using the donation
s we are receiving to feed and castrate dogs in the streets and to give them medical treatments. The same we do for our dogs that we have in the shelter.
The shelter as it is right now is not perfect because the hall we have rented is quite grey and dark and not the ideal place for dogs to live.
Our dream is that they have an adequate land with grass, water and a lot of space to run, play and to just be a dog … because this is what they need.
And right now we have the chance to enable that! There is a big vegan association that offered to buy a perfect land of 8 hectares for the dogs!
It has woods, a little lake and a lot of space for all the installations and is not comparable to what is usually offered to dogs here in Romania.
So if we receive enough support to have a self-financed and –organized project the association is willing to buy that land so we can use it for our dogs.
Our plan is to build up a dog-friendly shelter there where all the dogs will be fed without meat, so no other animal’s life has to be sacrificed for the dogs here to survive. All this will work with a well elaborated diet plan and in collaboration with veterinaries so that the dogs are healthy and fit to hopefully find a nice and benign new home maybe in a loving family, with a nice couple or just a single dog lover and new best friend.
We know that this is something new and revolutionary for a shelter and feeding dogs without meat is not that popular yet but we believe in our dream and we know that all the animals deserve to live!
The idea is to have a sustainable and animal-friendly dog shelter. We want use food donations from vegetable markets and supermarkets to feed our dogs such as self-grown vegetables from the gardens we could create on the big property so that all the dogs could receive an affectionate and delicious self-cooked meal every day.
We are already undertaking successful adoptions to Germany and want to keep doing this to help these wonderful dogs here to forget their often unlovely pasts…
So far all this is our big dream that we are working on. We are developing plans and have started important preparations for this project. Now it’s a question of money and time to make this dream real.
